Abstract

In this paper, epoxy esters were prepared by esterification of linoleic acid, lauric acid and epoxy resin, and then acrylic monomers, styrene and organosiloxane monomer were introduced into the resin by free radical graft polymerization. The self-crosslinking cured epoxy resin emulsion can be quickly self-crosslinked at room temperature. The structure and properties of waterborne epoxy resin were tested and analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), gel permeation chromatography(GPC) and Zeta potential analyzer. Systematic characterization was performed. The results show that the waterborne epoxy resin has good film self-curing forming properties, adhesion, impact resistance and water resistance, and can be used as a film-forming resin for aqueous coatings.
