Preparation and Properties of High-light Self-drying Waterborne Alkyd Resin

Abstract

In this paper,the basic alkyd resin is synthesized from linoleic acid,linoleic acid,pentaerythritol,neopentyl glycol,isophthalic acid,benzoic acid,maleic anhydride,etc.Styrene,acrylic and silicone monomers are mixed,and grafted into the base alkyd resin molecule to prepare a high-light selfdrying waterborne acrylic modified alkyd resin for aqueous coatings.The molecular structure of the resin,the particle size and contact angle of the emulsion were characterized by infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(^1H NMR),Zeta potential nano-particle size analyzer and contact angle measuring instrument.According to the relevant national standards,the coating film properties were systematically characterized.The results show that the waterborne alkyd resin has the characteristics of high gloss,self-drying at room temperature,strong water resistance and excellent adhesion,and can be used for preparing high-light self-dry ing waterborne alkyd anticorrosive coating.
