Based on the accident that a number of painting workers of Hyundai Heavy Industry Group of Korea unexpectedly get infected skin disease when they used the solvent-free coatings in the shipyards,this article aims to deeply discuss the reasons of this accident and give a warning about the potential environment problems of these so-called environment-friendly coatings,such as solvent-free coatings and high-solid coatings.Meanwhile,some useful advices are also put forward to the research,development,manufacture and application of these environmental-friendly coating products,as well as to the draft of related national standards.
