With the increasing requirements for surface decoration and function of products, vacuum plating coating technology has been developed rapidly. In this paper, the types, characteristics, development and application of vacuum plating coatings in recent ten years in China were summarized. The future research emphasis and application direction of vacuum plating coating were pointed out.
