Abstract

In this paper,a non-ionic room temperature self-emulsifying waterborne epoxy curing agent was synthesized using polyethylene glycol,epoxy resin E20,M-Xylylenediamine(MXDA)as raw materials and potassium persulfate as catalyst.The effects of synthesis reaction temperature,time,catalyst dosage and raw material ratio on the performance of the curing agent were systematically optimized.The structural character-ization of the curing agent was carried out using infrared spectroscopy,and the performance of the coating based on the emulsion curing of epoxy resin E44 with this curing agent was systematically tested.When the dosage of potassium persulfate accounted for 0.75%of the total epoxy resin and polyethylene glycol,the mo-lar ratio of epoxy resin,polyethylene glycol and MXDA was 1:1:4,and the reaction temperature was 180°C and the time was 4 h,the mechanical properties and chemical resistance of the obtained coating were excellent.
